Data Deletion
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This page explains how to have your data deleted from DMJar. It costs nothing.
If you messaged a business that uses DMJar
- Ask the business in the same chat, or write to contact@dmjar.com.
- If you write to us, tell us the business's name, the channel (Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp or website chat), and the name or phone number you used, so that we can find your chat.
- We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
Staff can also do this themselves: in the inbox, open the chat and choose "Delete everything about this customer". An order still on its way must be delivered or cancelled first.
If you run a business on DMJar
- To stop DMJar receiving your data, remove the app in Facebook under Settings, Business Integrations, or disconnect it in your WhatsApp business settings.
- To delete your account and your business's data, write to contact@dmjar.com from the owner's email address. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- The conversation, its messages and media.
- The customer's name, profile photo, phone number, address and preferences.
- That customer's orders, bookings and hand-overs.
- Entries about that chat in the business's activity record.
- For a business: its catalogue, settings, team members and stored channel access tokens as well.
What we cannot delete
- Copies outside DMJar: messages in Messenger, Instagram or WhatsApp themselves, Telegram alerts already sent, and order details already sent to a business's own systems. Ask the business or the platform to delete those.
- Records we must keep by law, which we hold only as long as the law requires.
Recovery copies kept by our hosting provider age out on their own within 30 days, and server logs within a few days.
